We are thrilled to announce that Core Group will be taking part in a charity event to support local lad Louis, who suffers from Duchenne muscular dystrophy. This event, aimed at raising money for Louis and https://www.duchenneuk.org/, will see our amazing team taking on the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge in July.
Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a rare genetic disorder that affects around 1 in 3,500 boys. It is a progressive condition that causes muscle weakness and wasting, making it increasingly difficult for those affected to walk and perform everyday tasks. Sadly, there is no known cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, but there are treatments available that can help manage the symptoms and improve the quality of life for those affected.
Louis is an incredibly brave young man who is facing this challenge head-on. He is determined to live life to the fullest, despite the limitations imposed by his condition. However, he needs our help to achieve his goals. That’s why we are proud to be part of this charity event, which aims to raise money to buy Louis a new electric wheelchair so that he can attend high school, learn, and be the best person he can be.
The Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge is a gruelling 25-mile hike that takes in three of the highest peaks in Yorkshire: Pen-y-ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough. It is a tough challenge that will test the endurance and determination of our team, but we are ready to take it on. We are training hard and working together to raise as much money as possible for Louis and Duchenne UK.
